Merry Christmas

It started with a call. A call that changed our destiny. Blitzen's rap change the way people viewed basketball & Christmas.  So began the Santa/Kobe/Lebron vs The Reindeer feud. A feud that tested the united Kobe & LeBron.

With Kobe & Lebron backing him up, Santa countered with a rap of his own. Any belief that Blitzen's rap was ignored was gone. Now the great clash was going to happen. The streetball game of the century was about to begin.

Now the great clash, it was one for all time. No reindeer were hurt,

But they were dunked on.

MSF talks Grizzlies Part 1:

Last night, the Grizzlies defeated the Chicago Bulls to win their 16th game of the season. The Griz are currently 16-6 & are in 4th place in the Western Conference standings. This is the best opening to a season in Griz history. That is why I have chosen to write this now. While things are going good. While I am not a Grizzlies fan, I am a native Memphian & like many other Memphians who root for different NBA teams, I still keep up with what the Griz are doing. I see major problems with the Griz, today I will write about one of them. I will also give my opinion of what should be done about it. Here is problem one: Rudy Gay. What do I mean when I say that Rudy Gay is a problem. Rudy Gay keeps trying to be the best player on the team, even though he is clearly the third best after Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. Gay shoots a lot which limits the times the two big men can get the ball on offense. Two years ago, Zach & Marc lead the Griz to a game seven against the Thunder in the second round while Rudy was injured. Last year, the Griz lead by Rudy were eliminated in the first round in a game seven vs the Clippers. During that series when the Griz gave the ball to Marc & Zach, the Griz were clearly better than the Clippers. When they stopped giving the ball to the big men & let Rudy take over, they didn't play well. Zach is a former all-star, Marc was a all-star last year, Rudy has never been an all-star. This year both Marc & Zach have had periods of great play. It also seems, in my opinion that Rudy after seeing this, has decided that he is going to prove that he is the man. This is bad, what is worse is that Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins seems to be enabling it. I will write about my thoughts on Lionel Hollins in an later post. But what to do about Rudy Gay. I say Trade Him.

Why should the Griz trade Rudy? Reason 1, because he is overpaid. Yes, I know that Rudy didn't make them offer a max contract but it is still a bad deal. The Griz have three major contracts & only two of them belong to all-star level talent. Reason 2, he is having problems being the 3rd best player. Rudy's attempts to dominate the ball show that he is still trying to be the best player instead of becoming a role player. This is going to cause dysfunction & hurt the team. The Griz are trying to win now, they need to know their roles & anybody who doesn't want to play his role should be forced to do so or traded. Reason 3, Lionel Hollins will not force Rudy to play his role. So management has to force the issue by moving Rudy. Reason 4, Rudy's trade value is high. Rudy is very talented, teams know this. Several teams would like to have him, let them make offers before his values drop. This is something the Griz need to do now or else they will have to do it later.

This is my opinion, if you agree or if you disagree, please comment below.

How to fix the Lakers

Help! We can't swim, & tell Celine Dion to stop singing!
The Lakers lost to the Cavaliers tonight. Right now there is a lot of panicking among Laker fans. The Lakers are 9-12 and are the laughing stock of the NBA. Mike D'Antoni's system isn't doing well, the Lakers aren't playing with energy and are playing very poor defense. Something has to be done, the problem is the Lakers have already fired one coach and Phil Jackson would have to be insane to take over now. Plus Steve Nash is a D'Antoni guy and plays well under his system. So D'Antoni should be allow to coach some games with Nash as the point guard. Pau Gasol is also hurt, which makes it really hard to trade him.

Something has to be done and here is what must be done. Jim Buss must be removed from the decision making position. He is the one who ran off Phil Jackson, hired Mike Brown, then hired D'Antoni in order not to rehire Phil Jackson. I am not a Phil Jackson guy, but he has 11 rings and knows how to turn talented teams into champions. Phil could be the coach now except Buss doesn't like him. So we have to deal with coaches that we aren't sure about. It also should be noted that he hired Brown instead of Brian Shaw, without consulting Kobe in order to establish that he was the Boss. He was also Andrew Bynum biggest supporter and blocked the team from trading him. Once it became clear that they could get Dwight Howard, he finally caved but even then he had to be convinced. This is Jim Buss' team and it is 9-12. It is time for Buss to pay the price. He tried and failed, it's time to let his sister, Jeanie Buss run the team. I am not saying that he should be fired, just transferred to a non basketball related position.

Also, it is time to trade Pau Gasol while people believe that the injury is the problem. Pau is soft and weak mentally, it is time to trade him before teams figure that out. The Lakers need to trade him while they can still get a starting level player for him.

How to pick the CFB D1A Champion?

It is that time of the year. The time when the D1 college football champion is chosen in a beauty pageant, uh I mean by using polls. Of course, as you all know we have the BCS "the greatest system of picking champions ever", pick who play in the title game because a tournament would be a bad idea. Why would it be a bad idea, because it would hurt tradition, unlike 40 bowls, having to use 6-7 teams or conference realignment. If you haven't guessed it, I don't like the BCS. A few years ago, this blog started its own National Championship, The MemphisSportsFan National Championship. Here is a list of past champions.

Here is how this year's championship will be decided.

The Next Tennessee Coach is?

It has been a bad day for Tennessee football. After weeks of hoping, Jon Gruden turned down the head coaching job. To be fair, Gruden's agent claims that no offer was made, that Gruden was never interested & Tennessee also claims that they have not offered or talked to Gruden about the job. However, several media sources in Tennessee dispute those facts & I believe them. Anyway Tennessee still needs a coach & wants to go big, here are some suggestions. Note all of these choices are Tennesseans.

Thank You Micheal Heisley

On October 25th the NBA board of governors approved the sale of the Memphis Grizzlies. It is now only a matter of time before Robert Pera is the now owner. With the ownership change now certain it is time to take a look back at the Michael Heisley era.

When Heisley first brought the Grizzlies they were losing money, being miss managed and in Vancouver. He tried to succeed in Vancouver but couldn't. Maybe it was the lack of support or it could have been the crime and bad music.

Michael Heisley needed to get the team out of that city. So he came to Memphis. Since then the Grizz have made 5 trips to the playoffs & have played in a game 7 in the 2nd round. They have had 3 all-stars, and are now a team people respect. There have been some problems, the Otis Thorpe trade cost the Grizz a chance at, getting either Melo, D. Wade or Chris Bosh. Pau Gasol demanded to be traded & went on to win 2 NBA titles with the Lakers. (Which was great for me except Grizz fans whined about it so much that they then had trouble realizing that Marc Gasol was awesome) Beside Pau, Shane Battier, J-Will, James Posley all went on to win titles with the Heat the very next season after they left. Then there was this

Yes Mr Heisley, we are going to talk about how bad Thabeet is!

Yet Michael Heisley kept going and now he has sold the team for a profit and the team is better than ever. He is the reason why the Grizzlies are in Memphis. So Thank You Michael Heisley.

Top 5 Worst WWE Moments

Last week on Raw, Jerry Lawler returned to WWE. Of course being WWE the had to make a skit out of it. Paul Heyman aka Paulie Dangerously, CM Punk's manager faked a heart attack. A lot of people were offended by it. I wasn't really offended by it, why? One, Lawler and Heyman have feuded in the past and I would love to see it restarted. Two, the WWE has done way, way worse. So for here is the list.

2012-13 NBA ALL-STAR PICKS

Voting for the NBA All-Star game has begun. This year the center position has been abolished. Instead of voting for two forwards, two guard and a center, fans will vote for three front court players and two back court players. As someone who played center for all of my church school league career, I strongly disagree. Truth be told the NBA should have separate lists for each of the five position. But it is what it is. Another year, another set of picks. Here I go

WWE- THE MONTREAL SCREW JOB

Montreal Screwjob, back story Bret Hart was leaving the WWF (WWE) to go to WCW. The thing was Bret was still WWF Champion. Vince McMahon wanted Bret to lose to Shawn Michaels. Problem was Bret hated Shawn and swore never to drop the belt to him.The match was in Monteal, Canada. So Vince, Shawn & HHH got together and came up with a plan. Because just having Bret lose to the Undertaker was clearly a crazy idea.

My thoughts about the Lakers & the Memphis Tigers

Lakers, I have been a fan of yours since the 80s. I have suffered through Celtic, Piston, Bull, Kings, Heat, & Grizz fans. I live in Memphis so I get mocked for not being a Grizz fans. I struck with you guys because the Lakers aren't just winners. You guys have a winning attitude. Lakers & we Laker fans don't tolerate losing, unlike Grizzlies fans. Now in the mist of the worst opening to a season by the Lakers in my life. (Note: I am 31) I hear "give it time", WHAT!!!!  THAT IS NOT HOW LAKERS TALK, CLIPPERS TALK LIKE THAT BUT NOT LAKERS!! Repeat after me, Jim Buss. I will fire Mike Brown. I will get rid of the stupid offense. I will hire either Phil Jackson, Coach K or if necessary Coach Cal.

Memphis Tigers, you are my team, my school, my classmates. I don't want to say this but, What in the World is going on. You guys are a top 20 team & had trouble with CBU! Arriving late to meetings, getting sent to the locker room, really??? For 2 years you guys have underachieved. It is time to growup.

I have made my point however I feel it should be made again. Therefore Francine of American Dad will make in Coach Cal fashion!

David Stern is retiring.

Yesterday, NBA commissioner David Stern announced his retirement. It is the end of a era for the pro sports. David Stern's tenure as commissioner has seen the largest growth in NBA history. The NBA was the number three league far behind football & baseball when Stern took over. The NBA has added seven teams, formed the NBDL & helped found the WNBA. The NBA became the number 2 sport under Stern. Basketball became a global game & stars like Michael Jordan became international superstars. There is no doubt that the NBA is way better off now than they were before David Stern became commissioner.

To be fair there have been complaints, four lockouts, the dress code, zero tolerance & the draft lottery to name a few. I actually have demanded on this blog & on twitter that David Stern either resign or be fired. Stern toward the end of his time as NBA commissioner has become a bully. The fact is no matter who much Stern annoyed me Memphis got a NBA team during his tenure & for that I thank him.

Why I think WWE is crazy enough to make Ryback champ

SuperCena lost to someone who had not won any WWE titles before this match. I don't remember Sheamus even getting a title shot before this match. Vince might decide that the WWE needs to shock people. That is when stuff like this happens.

Some thoughts

Here are some random thought about sports & wrestling.
  1.  Jeff Hardy regained the TNA title tonight, why TNA why. Is keeping him really that important. It is not like WWE wants him, if they do let him go. He would screw it up anyway.
  2. Vince McMahon finally went off about WWE's bad rating, only to have a WWE star point the finger at him. I don't know who is the brave man who just destroyed his own career but THANKYOU, it had to be said. We wrestling fans hear the words, Vince likes him or Vince hates him too much when we ask why certain stars are being used or not used.
  3. NBA season is here. Can the Heat repeat? Are the Lakers ready to challenge? Can OKC learn how to win titles? Will D. Rose & D. Howard be 100% when they return? Finally what dumb move will the Grizzlies make this season?
  4. It is the last year of the Memphis Tigers being in CUSA. HURRRRRAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. The Rams are getting better but I still don't like Fisher.
  6. The BCS is almost gone. Double HHHHUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
  7. Devon in Aces & 8s, good idea TNA!
  8. I don't care what Marvel says, Cyclops was right.
  9. Also the whole Superman dating Wonder Woman thing is a bad idea DC.
  10. Yankees SIGH, I just don't know. Is this how it ends?
  11. Marc Gasol is better than Andrew Bynum.
  12. Finally it's time for me to prepare my NBA predictons.
  13. Is anybody besides a diehard NHL fan going to miss it, answer no!
  14. It is time for Cena to get the belt back.
  15. It is also good to have Paul Heyman back.
  16. The replacement refs were fine, the real question is. Why did the ESPN get so anti NFL during the lockout.
  17. The Big Dance should be 64 (with NIT) or 96 (no more NIT)
  18. Finally Memphis Football really needs to get better.

Not sports related: Avengers vs X-Men is finally over

Last Wednesday, Avengers vs X-Men or AvX ended. The results were as I predicted. An X-Men victory, OK a Phoenix five victory, really it was a Cyclops victory, alright I admit it Cyclops got beatdown in the final issue BUT, HE WAS RIGHT!!! Hope became the Phoenix, was in control and undid M-Day. That being said Professor X is dead. Killed by Cyclops and his glow of death.

Two years in: The winners in my opinion

Two years ago today, I decided that the microblog known as twitter was not quite good enough when it came to getting my thoughts across. So I started this small blog & Two years later it remains. While its viewers stats are low it remains. Few people knows that it is even around, but it still remains. Now come a look back before we head into year 3. In this post we will look at the winners.

Youtube week Final Day: Larry Finch tribute.

This is the final day of Youtube week. It finishes with a tribute to the late Larry Finch. This former Memphis Tiger, was the face of the basketball program for years. He lead the school to the NCAA title game where he is remembered for a show of sportsmanship. He later became the winningest coach in school history. When I was a child wanted to play for Memphis & for coach Finch.

Youtube Week Day 4: Ode to Pau

How could I do Youtube week & not post this. my first video. The song 'Who wants a crying Spaniard' by Chris Vernon, now of 929 ESPN, gained him international fame & hatemail. But it did not get a Youtube video. Then Angel Garcia quit the Memphis Tigers & went to the Spanish pro league. I wanted to post the song on twitter in his honor, except I could not find a Youtube video. So I made one.

Note: To my fellow Laker fans, listen to the words spoken by Jerry West. He was talking about the fact the Pau was playing badly during the season AFTER being awesome in International competition.

Youtube Week, Day 3: Memphis Wrestling Tribute.

What is Memphis known for besides BBQ, FedEx, Autozone, Elvis, Graceland, Rock music, Isaac Hayes, Home to COGIC, Blues, BB King, 3 six Mafia & the Grizzlies. Wrestling is the answer. So because of that hear is a tribute to Memphis Wrestling.

Saturday is the 2 year anniversary of this blog. Because of that this is Youtube week. A week to honor the Youtube page. Why, because the Youtube page was the beginning of MemphisSportsFan. I started on April 30, 2010, five months before the twitter page and a little over two months before the twitter account started (July 8th same year aka Lebron's The Decision). I have made several videos which I will post this week. First up is Lionel are you down, a song by Chris Vernon about Memphis Grizziles coach Lionel Hollins enjoy.

Really, You have a problem with the NFL, NOW !?!?

On September the first 2006, Roger Goodell became NFL Commissioner. Over his time as NFL Commissioner Goodell, the NFL rules have changed in ways many people dislike. He has enraged the NFLPA with his fines and suspensions. He led the owners in a lockout of the players just last year. He has been judge, jury and executioner when issuing punishments to players, coaches, GM and owners. Appeals are made to him.

Words of Wisdom Day 2 Al Bundy explaining why men are idiots

After a nearly a year of waiting shoe salesman and Polk High legend Al Bundy returns to give out more wisdom.

Tribute to the King Jerry Lawler

While many people know Lawler as an TV announcer, he made his national TV debut on Letterman as part of the feud with Andy Kaufman . Lawler is one of the most famous & beloved Memphians. He was loyal to the USWA at time when other stars were jumping to WWE. Which is why he never held a WWE belt. He held several others. Lawler also has given back to Memphis. He formed a softball team Lawler's army, which was also the name of his heel faction, to play games for charity. I and all of Memphis wish him a speedy recovery.
Get well soon King. You are in our prayers.

Words of Wisdom Day 1 Year 2

Last year in order to celebrate the first year anniversary of this blog, I had Words of Wisdom Week on the last week of September. Another year, more words of wisdom because among the things that the world needs is more Wisdom. This year it comes earlier in order to make up for my lack of posts. I also plan on doing a MSF Youtube week on the week of the 2nd anniversary. First up.

I watched impact & I liked it

Tonight I watched TNA & it was good. I have not been watching it for months. Began to miss episodes around Bully Ray's heel turn. I stoped watching completely when Bobby Roode won the belt. From what I have heard both Bully's heel turn & Roode's title run were good, however I had stopped watching. I tried to watch & but I would get bored or annoyed & change the channel.  A few weeks ago I saw the new champ Aries & Roode in the ring together the show after Roode lost the belt. Great promo & Roode not being able to speak was the best part. Finally tonight I gave it another chance. But that is not what I am blogging about. During the show I saw Aces & 8s, TNA's NWO ripoff. I know one thing they are better that Nexus ever was! I don't know who they are or who they work for but I want to know. This what this post is about. the top 3 people who should be behind Aces & 8s.

Finally!! The real Dwightmare begins.

I and the rest of the Laker fans welcome Dwight Howard to the Lakers. This hopefully is the beginning of a new dynasty.

Now the Lakers will rise & their haters will have to face the truth. No matter what they do, no matter David Stern, Dan Gilbert the small market owners do. No matter what the Lebron haters/fans do the Lakers will rise again.

Olympics

Last Friday the 2012 Summer Olympics held it's opening ceremonies. I have watched a lot of events. Here are my thoughts.

  1. Michael Phelps is still the best but has lost the Eye of the Tiger
  2. It would be messed up if David Stern & the NBA owners stopped sending the top NBA stars because they want money, because they fear injury.
  3. Ryan Lochte needs to talk less.
  4. If ever the Olympics are in Memphis, I will throw a party & invite women from Norway, Nigeria, Brazil, Netherlands, India, etc. I will also invite Vance.
  5. Baseball, Softball, Tug or War & Dodgeball should be Olympic sports.
  6. Women's beach volleyball should require Bikinis.
  7. This Fab 5 did win it all.
  8. Geoff Caukins & Gary Parrish don't care about spoiling events, neither does ESPN nor NBC at certain times.

Last night was Raw's 1000 episode. It featured Brock Leasner saying yes to HHH thanks to Stephanie Mcmahon. Rock came back. Daniel Bryan was mocked & left at the altar. Cena cashed in Money & the Bank. CMPunk turned heel. But this post is not about last night. It is about the 10 best moment in RAW HISTORY.

My Reply to Michael Rosenberg's Why Death Penalty doesn't make sense for Penn St Football

This is a reply to a opinion piece written by Michael Rosenberg on the Sports Illustrated website. In it he gives five reasons why giving Penn State the Death Penalty doesn't make sense. Here it is http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/michael_rosenberg/07/19/penn-state-death-penalty/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_T12_a2

I disagree with his point so I am writing this as a reply. The way I will do this is by giving a reply to each of his five points.

Point 1. There are only a few people directly responsible.

My Reply: The Freeh report makes it clear that more than four people knew about Sandusky abusing kids. Mike McQueary saw him & the report mentioned a Korean War vet to name a few. It is hard to believe that these stories weren't repeated to other people at some point. Others knew and told no one. While it is clear that the Penn State leadership started the coverup they had help. Yes, witnesses were scared but they still chose not to come forward.

Point 2 This is not the NCAA's job.

My Reply: Since when? The NCAA has always maintain that it's members & it's student-athletes are held to high standard. This is the worst scandal involving a NCAA member ever. The NCAA goes after student-athletes who take money, they have gone after family members of student-athletes. And for the argument that NCAA doesn't deal with crimes, what about it's rules against gambling. The NCAA also does drug testing. The NCAA, it's conference's & it's schools suspend players when that get in trouble with the law.

Point 3. It punishes the wrong people.

My Reply: That is what the NCAA does. Bowl bans, loss of Scholarships, TV bans & probation in general punishes the wrong people, yet the NCAA keeps doing it. USC players who were in middle school at the time, served a Bowl ban due the Reggie Bush penalties. In fact the penalties that it looks like the NCAA will impose on Penn St will affect people who had nothing to do with the Sandusky coverup.

Point 4. It will not accomplish what it is supposed to accomplish.

My Reply: That depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Pro death penalty supporters want to send a message. The worst offense should get the worst punishment. When it comes to rebuilding the culture if the Death penalty for a few years doesn't do it, nothing short of a permanent ban will do it. And when it comes to those angry Penn State fans, it is not fault of the NCAA or the pro death penalty people. It is the fault of the then Penn State leadership & Paterno for covering it up. If they choose to keep supporting Paterno, it is there choice.

Point 5. Precedent.

My Reply: This is worse than SMU. By not giving the death penalty the NCAA is saying that paying players is unacceptable. But covering for child rapist, not so much. What kind of precedent does that set?

If you agree or disagree please comment.

Penn St Football, What should be done?

Last week the results of the Freeh report were announced. It confirmed what many of us feared. Joe Paterno knew what Sandusky was doing & covered it up.With this announcement several people have now called for Penn St to receive the death penalty. I agree with them. Yet, Penn St football keeps going on. The statue & buildings named after Paterno have kept there names. I still feel that Penn St needs to take Paterno's name off of everything. He should be like Chris Benoit in WWE, nobody can see anything with him in it & his name is not spoken.

No Impart Wrestling

Directv & Viacom have reached a impasse over money. Which means no Viacom channels like the MTVs, VH1, Nicks & no Spike TV. No Spike TV means no Impact Wrestling or TNA as I still call it, for me. This means no Eric Bischoff & his son on TV instead of wrestlers. No Dixie Carter & AJ Styles having an affair helping a young woman. No more watching to see if Jeff Hardy is sober. Seeing a 4 sided ring, & no watching Abyss' "brother" fighting Bully Ray. I like many others don't know what I shall do. However this impasse is important. Directv keep up the fight even if Viacom never gives up. It will be hard but it is necessary. So keep up the fight we will just have to learn to miss stuff like Garrett Bischoff getting to learn how to wrestle in major storyline. Miss Chris Daniel & Kaz imply stuff that is clearly fake. But we shall learn.

MWM Day 2

Day 2 Great Title wins in Wrestling History.
Shawn Michael finally does it.

What the Grizzlies need to do

Watching the Memphis Grizzlies can be annoying. That is why I am not a Grizz fan anymore. I like a lot of the players, Allen, Marc, & ZBO to name a few. They have the ability to win the title. Yet, they lost to the Clippers in the first round. Not blaming anyone or anything in particular cough bad coaching cough Rudy cough Conley   changes need to be made. I have made suggests in the past, none have been followed. I will blog & watch as I am proven right. The Grizz need to replace Coach Lionel Hollins, trade Rudy Gay & Mike Conley. I doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon so here is the list.

The Truth comes out, Penn State emails

Last Friday, CNN ran a story about emails from February 2001 between then Penn St president Graham Spainer, AD Tim Curley & Senior VP Gary Schultz. The emails are the 3 men talking about how to deal with Jerry Sandusky. After learning what Mike McQueary told Joe Paterno. In the early emails it seems that the 3 men are going to report Sandusky. Then that changes. Curley sends Spainer & Schultz emails suggesting that they handle the McQueary report internally. Most disturbing part is that it seems that the cover up might have been Joe Paterno's idea. Curley instead suggests that they confront Sandusky tell him what they know, & force him to get professional help. Here is the story below.

What the Lakers need to do.

FYI if Captain America show up, run because he has 20 guys backing him up.
It is the NBA offseason & the Lakers aren't doing anything. Now I could wait & see what they do. The Lakers have a history of making good deals becoming title contenders fast. But wheres the fun in that. Here is the list.

Lakers update

I'm starting to think that it's going to be a while before they win number 17.
                                             Here it is.

Pau Gasol has not been traded.

Andrew Bynum has not been traded.

Mike Brown still is coach.

Jim Buss is still running team into ground.

David Stern is still in charge of NBA.

Nobody worth nothing was drafted last night.

                                            Update over. SIGH!!!

The Big Johnnny Era ends

Two weeks ago this Sunday, the John Laurinaitis as GM storyline ended at the WWE No Way Out PPV. This happened after John Cena defeated the Big Show. After the match Vince McMahon fired Laurinaitis, & then Cena gave him a AA. The next night on Raw He then got 3 AAs & was pinned by Cena, after both Big Show & David Ortunga abandoned him. Thus ending the reign of Laurinaitis who was also known as Johnny Ace, Big Johnny, & Road Warrior Animal's younger brother. I am going to take a look back at the Big Johnny Era.

MWM Run Kane Run!!!

Oh look Kane has a psycho girlfriend. Yeah, I'm giving this 6 months before Kane files the restraining order. Both he & she better get title runs out of this. I mean, Victoria Tara & Mickie James got title runs as nutjobs & Kane should have a real WWE title run, not another one day one.

Today is RC Johnson's last day.

Today is the final day of RC Johnson time as AD at University of Memphis. It has been a wild ride. Football had is greatest success. Tiger Lane was built. Men's Basketball took over C-USA & made it to the title game. That team also had the most wins in a season ever, 38. Fund raising is at a all-time high. Memphis Pom are National Champions. Memphis is about to join the Big East. Hiring first John Calipari then Josh Pastner as men's basketball coach has worked out.

It is also fair to mention, football is in horrible condition. Larry Porter, who got the job over now Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze, did a poor job & was fired after two seasons. New coach, Justin Fuente was not hired by RC. Call for a on campus football stadium were ignored. The Basketball title game appearance was vacated, along with the 38 win season ever. Cal left the program in horrible shape & Josh Pastner has picked out of desperation. The Big East is falling apart, with teams jumping to the ACC & Big 12.

That being said, Memphis sports are now better. But I am still annoyed about a few things RC, anyway goodbye RC.

Why the Lebron haters are losers.

Getting ready to tape a cover to America Most Hated.
It's that time of the year. It is time for the NBA Finals. Which means it is time for Lebron James to fail again. Now that wouldn't be a problem except for all of the Bron ex-fans haters out there. If you thought that they were annoying last year, you have not been paying attention to them this year. They have turned acting like jerks into an art form. As a child, I learned that there are winners & losers, and that sports are not real life. Somebody tell the Bron haters. Now when I talk about the Bron haters I am not talking about Skip Bayless or many of my fellow Laker fans who have questioned Lebron. I am talking about the people who would & some still do say that Lebron is the best player in the world. Who think that he deserves 3 MVPs. And who NOW don't like him because of the Decision & the fact the he chokes from time to time. Who ignored his act in Cleveland but NOW want to complain about EVERYTHING he does. The people who 3 years ago would tell us how awesome he was, & who now hate him, those haters. I could go on about my dislike of these people but I have a list to do.

MWM This week.

Kane wins ECW title in a Squash match. Proving that Chavo can job even at Wrestlemania.

Why the X-Men will beat the Avengers.

I know that this has nothing to do with sports but bare with me. I was checking my Direct messages on twitter & I found out that a national comic blogger challenged me back in December to do this. December the 6th, now it is May. I am not sure if I will tweet this to him considering that the event has started but I shall defend my position. Here it is top the 11 reasons why the X-Men are going to beat the Avengers.

Lakers win!! Lakers win!!!

Last night it looked liked the impossible would happen. LA was had a 16 point lead in the 3th & had gone cold. Now it was early in the 4th & Denver was up by 4. Ty Lawson was on fire. Kobe was being double team & Metta World Peace was missing 3s. I along with Laker Nation was angry & scared. It seemed like the change was coming. Then it changed!! Kobe locked down Lawson, World Peace & Steve Blake hit big shots. And of couse the Laker big men would not let them lose. Pau Gasol took over!!! He along with Bynum controlled the paint. Here is his stats, 23 points, 17 rebounds 11 offensive rebounds, 6 assists & 4 blocks. Me Gusta Pau!!!! Pau Gasol estaba grande anoche.  Bynum got big rebounds & the Black Mamba hit another dagger. Good Night Denver, thanks for playing. Maybe next year. Now on the OKC in the quest for ring number 17.

MWM Jerry Lawler piledrivers a Clipper fan.

Yes, I am a Laker fan, & I expect the Grizzlies to lose the series but I really really don't like the Clippers. I don't like their fake fans, who nobody has seen before. I don't like the fact that they play in the Lakers' building instead of building their own. I don't like the fact that they are talking smack about Memphis. They flop & it works. Blake Griffin is overrated. They are only good because David Stern let them have Chris Paul at the Lakers expense. Hey, Clippers you guy are losers no matter how this series ends. And in a few years, you guy will be back in the dumpster that you came out of.

Dead Blog posts, Big 12 is in trouble. Suggestion time.

The Big 12 is dying, again. This time Texas and Oklahoma are leaving to go to the SEC.
