When I was going up Vince McMahon was still trying to crush the other wrestling promotions. He had been very successful, buying Georgia Championship Wrestling (GCW), both the Minneapolis based American Wrestling Association (AWA) & Dallas based World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) were dying, & the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA ) was working with Jim Crockett Promotions of Charlotte to form World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in order to complete with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It was at this time that the United States Wrestling Association was formed in order to complete with both the WWF & WCW.

The USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship belt.

Jerry "the King" Lawyer would later unified the belts in Chicago & it was then the USWA was born.
