BCS Picks plus one
I have been busy. I had planned to post a full list of bowl game predictions but I lost track of time and missed the first bowl game. I then decided just to do the BCS. Here I go
Liberty Bowl
Mississippi State over Rice
BCS Bowls
Rose Bowl
Michigan State over Stanford
Fiesta Bowl
Baylor over Central Florida
Sugar Bowl
Alabama over Oklahoma
Orange Bowl
Ohio State over Clemson
Title Game
Auburn over Florida State
Note 1: I being a Memphian am also picking the Liberty Bowl eventhough it is a non BCS game.
Note 2: The winner of the BCS title game will be declared the MSF National Champion.

USC coaching changes
Lane Kiffin has lost his job. Kiffin went 28-15 as USC head coach. Kiffin is now looking for a new job. Vol fans, who are still mad that Kiffin left after one 7-6 season, are smiling, at least when they are not thinking about the Dooley years. Now in memory of Kiffin, a song.
Answer, new USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron, who was 10-21 in three years as Ole Miss head coach.
Oh how USC has fallen, hopefully they can get their act together, but with Coach O in charge, I doubt it.

None sports RANT Avengers vs X-Men
Hello, this is not going to be about sports. It will instead be about something that annoys me. Last years' Avengers vs X-Men event. This will likely be a rant where I will scream about how Marvel screwed it up. You have been warned.
Back at the end of 2011 the event was announced. I and most comic fans were excited. Marvel said the each of the sides would have a reason to fight the other. Marvel also promised that there would be a winner and that the event would change the Marvel universe. Marvel was right, it did all of those things, while also annoying & enraging a very large number of fans. Yet, what happened can't be undone. The Avengers won the battle. Captain America is now involved in the mutant issue. (For better or worse) Cyclops won the war but is now single & a outlaw. Wolverine is now the leader of the 'legitimate' X-Men and is a leader of the reborn mutant race. This bugs me, LET THE RANT BEGIN!!!!!
Avengers vs X-Men also known as AvX has several issues, one of the biggest is character derailment. Character derailment is when a character acts in a way that goes against how that character previously acted and makes that character look bad. Here are some examples;

My Thoughts about Delany's NCAA Reform Plan
Above is a plan by Jim Delany to reform the NCAA it calls for:
- Creation of a Educational Trust, that allows former student-athletes to return to school after their playing careers are over.
- Time commitments, to allow student-athletes to be "full time students"
- Focusing on at risk student-athletes,
- Miscellaneous expenses, paying the student-athletes.

One Month since I have been gone
For the last month, I have been in the TIP program at the University of Memphis Law School, for last month. I and 16 other students had been doing a simulated full term of law school trying to get into the law school. This is why the blog has been untouched for one month. If I am successful, it will mean the end of this blog. If you ever look at any of my post for any reason THANK YOU. This started as a hobby & because something that I came to enjoy. This I will be posting several post to make up for the last month. First up my thoughts about the last month.
- Kim Kardashian is a now mom, Kanye West is a dad. Why on earth did they name the child Northwest, I mean why not a name that starts with a K.
- Royal baby, still not here
- Egypt has a new president, so much for democracy I know that Morsi was not popular but a coup was not how this should have been dealt with.
- George Zimmerman trial, why did the prosecutors keep focusing on race instead of what happened
- Zimmerman verdict, not shocked the prosecution did a bad job
- Good bye Dwight Howard, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
- Lionel Hollins is GONE!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!
- Anderson Silva got knocked out.
- I was not a Albert Del Rio fan, however I am really not a Dolph Ziggler fan. Next time Ziggler wins the belt clean will be the first time. Del Rio was right to call out WWE fans for booing him & cheering Dolph.

Who should coach the Grizzlies?
The contract of Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins is about to expire. The Grizzlies have just had their best season ever. Most people would expect that coach Hollins would stay on as head coach, however there is a good chance that he won't. Do to disagreements with management it now appears that coach Hollins is on his way out. As it appears that a coaching change is coming several names have come up as a possible future head coach. This post will give some pros & cons of each possible choice.

MWM Bad idea month part 3
The Brawl for all, which Jim Cornette calls, "the stupidest thing that the WWF (WWE) has ever done". It was a Tough man style 16 man tournament. Each match consisted of 3 one minute rounds, 5 pts were awarded for every landed punch & clean takedown while it was 10pts for every knockdown, there were ringside judges. These were real fights. The ways to win were by points, judges' decision, TKO & KO. It had a 8 count instead of the normal 10 count. It left several fighter with injuries &/or destroyed careers, more after the cut.

Congratulations Memphis Grizzlies
Unless you have been living under a rock in Russia, you know that the Memphis Grizzlies have won their second round series vs the OKC Thunder, 4 games to 1 game. They have advanced to the Western Conferences finals for the first time ever in their history. Who would have thought that getting rid of Rudy Gay would cause them to improve, besides me of course.

Yep I told you so! Some guy called Chris Vernon might have also said something like this. Anyway Congratulations are in order for the Grizzlies.
This is my 350 post so I should post something special. So I am posting something for the Rudy Gay fan club.... NAAAH!

Last Day
After a eventful April, the month of May has been quiet for the blog, for two reason. First, stop me if you have read this before, Computer Problem or in this case Internet Problems. Good news those have been fixed, Mostly! Second, is Finals at University of Memphis & my upcoming graduation. This has taken alot of my time, & truth be told my attempts at getting into & going to law school will likely reduce my time for this blog or end it. But I am not thinking about that not. I am focusing on this.

Glacier, if you remember him, nuff said! If you don't he was a guy WCW debuted as a possible threat to the NWO. He wasn't! He also reminded people of Sub Zero, of Mortal Kombat fame. After his first run failed he was later brought back as a joke. Only good thing about his time in WCW was his friend turned enemy Ernest "The Cat" Miller.

Truths of Fandom (Good Team)
I was sick this weekend & was not able to watch Game 1 of Clippers vs Grizzlies. From what I have heard & seen, it was a very 4th quarter, again. The starters played badly & Coach Lionel Hollins once again made questionable coaching & personal decisions. This has lead my Griz fans to worry about the future. This worry & general lack of knowledge of what to do has lead me to make a post about Truth of Fandom for fans of good teams, truths after the cut.

I am posting this to inform the public of my victory in my Fox Sport Bracket. I won nothing EXCEPT BRAGGING RIGHTS!! WOOOHHH It should be noted that while my bracket for the MSF Challenge won, my other brackets had problems. My other Fox Bracket finished 50th. My two CBS Brackets finished 330666 & 546523. But I won my contest & that matters.

USWA WEEK Final Day
Sorry about not posting this yesterday but I was tired & had to run some errands. This is the Final day of USWA week enjoy. The USWA is gone but it's impact is still felt. It former wrestlers are some of the most well known wrestlers today. Here is a look at some of its most famous alumni
First is The King Jerry Lawler. Raw commentator, 168 time former champion, including 30 times as World Champion, & 73 times as Southern Champion.
Next is the King of the Mountain, Jeff Jarrett, co-founder and co-owner of TNA. He is a 16 time former World Champion.
Jacqueline Moore, was known as Ms Texas in USWA. 11 time former women's champion
The Superstar Bill Dundee, known as Sir William in WCW, he was Lawler rival, truth is that probably will wrestle another match. Never became as well known as Lawler. I am doing a USWA week, so I have to mention Dundee. 15 time former Southern Champion.
Here are a few more alumni
The late WWE Hall of Famer Junkyard dog, former 2 time world champion
'The Ugandan Giant' Kamala is a former 4 time world champion
WWE Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware is a two time champion.
"Grandmaster Sexy" Brian Christopher 'Lawler'
Reggie B Fine minus his fur coat .
Finally 'The Mouth of South' Jimmy Hart was annoying folks in Memphis long before he went global.

USWA Day 3 USWA vs WWF It happen
Mr McMahon was first a heel in Memphis. He would send WWF wrestlers down to face Jerry Lawler. And boy did he troll Memphis.
Next up
Bret Hart was already feuding with Lawler, thus he & his brother were the first challengers. Also in Memphis, Bret & Owen were the heel.
The Big Guns Giant Gonzales
MACHO
Yes Vince sent Randy Savage, the storyline would soon end but it will always be remembered.

USWA week Day 2
As the USWA had names that are known through wrestling. Jeff Jarrett, of TNA fame is the son of Jerry Jarrett, former CWA & then USWA owner. He was also grandson of Eddie Malin. He was a ref until, Tony Faulk, an USWA jobber challenged him. The match was a draw & Jeff career took off. A 12 time world champion, he is a co-founder of TNA. The person Jeff is fighting in the video is Eddie Gilbert. The late Eddie Gilbert is best known for running over Jerry Lawler in a storyline. An act which caused MPD to receive several phone calls.

USWA Week Day 1
When I was going up Vince McMahon was still trying to crush the other wrestling promotions. He had been very successful, buying Georgia Championship Wrestling (GCW), both the Minneapolis based American Wrestling Association (AWA) & Dallas based World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) were dying, & the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA ) was working with Jim Crockett Promotions of Charlotte to form World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in order to complete with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It was at this time that the United States Wrestling Association was formed in order to complete with both the WWF & WCW.

Deep hurting
Both Miami & Indiana lost last night. It is official, my brackets have been busted. I am getting crushed in every bracket challenge that I have entered, except my own. I am winning the MSF Bragging Rights Challenge.
Sorry about that.

Laying down the gauntlet
For a few years I have blogged, tweeted & posted Youtube vidoes. Partly for fun & partly to show how smart I am. Now today I have decided to prove how smart I am by creating a MSF (Memphis Sports Fan) Bragging Rights Challenge group as part of the Fox Bracket Challenge. The prize for winning the Fox Sports Bracket is this
I am trying to win this. The thing is people not only can enter the main challenge they can also join groups, public or private. Some of this groups offer prizes, a few years ago Chris Vernon then of 730 Fox Sports had a contest. I entered it & thats why I even have a foxsports account. Last year, I had a group but didn't tell anybody, people found it & joined it anyway. This year I am telling people. If you dare to challenge me, have or get a Fox Sport account, enter their bracket challenge & join 'MSF BRAGGING RIGHTS CONTEST' group. It is public, & people can post two brackets. So if you aren't sure about picks just post different picks on each bracket. Why am I doing this, because the only way to prove that I am smart is to outsmart other people. You might be asking "What do I get if I beat you?", the answer is,
You get nothing, except Bragging Rights & the fact that you crushed my dreams of greatness. But that won't happen because I shall will! Now those of you who want a thrashing, enter & be crushed. Those of you who are smart & know that I shall win, seat back & watch me go "Veni Vidi Vici".

Today is the day that the Memphis Tigers played & won their final basketball C-USA game. That is a good thing, C-USA has been a joke for a few years now. Memphis has been trying to get out of it and move to the Big East. That seemed to happened last summer, but nope, today is also the final basketball game of the 'old' Big East. It will be replaced with a 'new' Big East who will have first rights to play their tourney in MSG. This means that Memphis is going to join a unnamed conference which I have nicknamed the 'Not Big East' Conference. This assumes that the 'Not Big East' doesn't fall apart first, which it still could.
Why is this happening, money or football TV money. It seems strange to me, a basketball fan, that the quest for more football money can just destroy tradition, when we all know that tradition is why FBS doesn't have a playoff, but it can. I am an Memphis football fan, I hear how football is so important and that basketball doesn't really matter. I hope that this people are right. Conferences hurt & changed rivalries ended all for money, I hope that it is worth it. Because if they are wrong and it is not worth it, there will be no place in this nation that those people will go and not have to deal with the effects of the their mistake.
In happier news, Congrats to Chris Crawford C-USA tourney MVP.

The Memphis Tigers went 16-0 this year. This is the first time Memphis has gone unbeaten in CUSA since Cal left. It was a team effort with several players stepping up.

Chris Crawford All CUSA 6th man of the year. Threat off the bench. Leader in FT%, 3rd in assists. |

Austin vs Rock
As we get closer to Wrestlemania, the MWM will look back at great Wrestlemania matchs first up Austin vs The Rock at Wrestemania.
We are screwed!
Meet the new Big East! |
Last week it was announced that the 7 Catholic schools that are leaving the Big East are leaving early. It that wasn't bad enough, it looks like they are taking the Big East name with them. This means that the conference that Memphis is joining won't be the Big East. So now after all of the hard work, sweat, tears & money, Memphis is not in the Big East
Somewhere Ashton Kutcher has a camera & is filming this. |
So know what? I would say drop football, but I don't feel like getting called stupid on twitter. So Memphis now needs a new conference, I said lets try the want aids, and sell stuff.
T-shirts for sale, barely worn! |
Whether or not this works, I don't know but I do know a few things
- Memphis is still not in a major onference
- RC Johnson has now offically failed
- Memphis basketball is getting screwed
- This is all the BCS's fault.

Welcome Back Seattle.
It now seems clear that the Sacramento Kings are moving to Seattle. It is not known if they are becoming the Seattle Kings or the new Seattle Supersonics, but Seattle will be getting a new team. The Sonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008, this is the 5th season since they moved. A lot has chanced since they have moved. This post will list several things that have changed since Seattle last had a NBA team.
- Lebron James no longer chokes, yeah I know shocking. Miami is the champion.
- Cleveland hates Lebron. And the Cavs are terrible.
- Lakers suck, I don't know how it happened but it happened. They have Steve Nash & Dwight Howard, yet they suck.
- Memphis Grizzlies, LA Clippers are good.
- Nets are back in
New York Cityuh, I mean Brooklyn. They are trying to complete with the Knicks head up. - New Orleans Pelicans
- The new team in Oklahoma City, was in the finals & have two great players. Durant & Westbrook
- Greg Oden was a bust.
- Stars named Kevin Love, Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose have risen, Stars like Allen Iverson have retired.
- David Stern veto trades that he don't like.
- David Stern is also retiring, yeah thats awesome.
- The NBA Lockout happened and didn't fix anything.
- Phil Jackson is retired. Meaning other teams now have a chance

7 REASONS WHY THE ROCK SHOULD BEAT CM PUNK!
A toy version of Rock's belt, still better than the spinner belt. |
- 434 Days is long enough, CM Punk in this one WWE title reign has held the title longer than these superstars in their total careers, Ric Flair (2 reigns, 118 days), Undertaker (4 reigns, 238 days), Kurt Angle (4 reigns, 297 days), Rock (7 reigns, 297 days) & Shawn Michaels (3 reigns, 396 days).
- Rock as a major can draw more attention & money to the WWE.
- This is going to annoy people, but CM Punk is the vanguard of the PG era, an era that many fans hate. Giving the belt back to an Attitude era star might be necessary to increase TV viewership.
- Last I checked, Punk is the bad guy, plus he needs help to hold it. The Shield keep bailing him out, at some point he has to lose. So just have him drop it to Rock.
- Rock vs Cena II, Rock (And the Attitude era) vs Cena (And the PG era). Gives Cena a chance to redeem himself & win one for his era.
- If Punk is this annoying, & entertaining now, imagine how annoying & entertaining he would be after a loss.
- Maybe they would finally get rid of the spinner belt.
7 REASONS WHY CMPUNK SHOULD BEAT THE ROCK
- A 492 day reign would be an awesome thing. Back in the 70s & early 80s, 1000 day plus reigns were normal. Today a six month is consider great.
- It provides that WWE thinks of CM Punk as a headliner. People view John Cena as the WWE's top guy. And much resentment has set in about it. Fans feel like Cena has been forced down their throats. Punk beating the Rock, if that happens, SHOULD end that.
- Sorry, I am a BIG Rock fan, but he is not around enough to be Champ.
- CM Punk staying the champion would mean that he & Paul Heyman can keep trolling former champions.
- A CM Punk win would represent a passing of the touch from the more popular attitude era to the current PG era.
- Millions of fans would hate WWE if CM Punk lost.
- CM Punk winning could lead to CM Punk vs the Undertaker, Reign vs the Streak.

Super Conferences lineup predictions.
Cooler than the Tardis, Deloren and Bill & Ted's phone booth put together. |
Ever since conference realignment begin a few years ago there has been talk of super conferences. A super conference is a conference with several members like the old WAC did before the Mountain West split off. Except they would be the major conferences & would control major college football. All the other football conference would be left out. Well using the MSF prediction machine shown at the top, I have come up with the future look of the Football Bowl Subdivision conferences. Time to go to the future and back.

In my Opinion: Memphis Football
It is time for the University of Memphis to drop football from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). I hate the idea of doing it but it is necessary. Memphis is a basketball city, & the university is a basketball school. Tiger fans have not focused on football & truth be told we don't care about it. We want to be in the Final Four, not a BCS game. Yes, football can make a lot more money than basketball, however it is basketball that makes the money at the U of M.
