None sports RANT Avengers vs X-Men

  Hello, this is not going to be about sports. It will instead be about something that annoys me. Last years' Avengers vs X-Men event. This will likely be a rant where I will scream about how Marvel screwed it up. You have been warned.

  Back at the end of 2011 the event was announced. I and most comic fans were excited. Marvel said the each of the sides would have a reason to fight the other. Marvel also promised that there would be a winner and that the event would change the Marvel universe. Marvel was right, it did all of those things, while also annoying & enraging a very large number of fans. Yet, what happened can't be undone. The Avengers won the battle. Captain America is now involved in the mutant issue. (For better or worse) Cyclops won the war but is now single & a outlaw. Wolverine is now the leader of the 'legitimate' X-Men and is a leader of the reborn mutant race. This bugs me, LET THE RANT BEGIN!!!!!

  Avengers vs X-Men also known as AvX has several issues, one of the biggest is character derailment. Character derailment is when a character acts in a way that goes against how that character previously acted and makes that character look bad. Here are some examples;

1. Wolverine: Tried to murder a teenage girl at least 3 times during the story, allowed his hatred of Cyclops to cloud his mind to the point that he would fight his friends, betrayed his friends on Utopia, MADE NO EFFORT TO TRY TO TALK THE SITUATION, IN FACT HE MADE THE SITUATION WORSE. RESULT: Now for the most part unquestioned Leader of the X-Men. Got Storm & 05 Jean Grey is alive and has taken his side against Cyclops.
2. Captain America: Attempted to bully Cyclops & the Utopian X-Men.  Attacked the X-Men in AvX 6 for no good reason. Used the info that Wolverine gave him even though he knew that Logan wanted to kill Hope. Never really cared or did anything to help the X-Men or mutants in general, then showed up & expected them to follow him blindly. Only wanted to talk after the X-Men agreed to follow him, used force when they refused. RESULT: Leader of a larger, stronger Avengers team, member of Avenger Unity Squad
3. Black Panther: Followed Captain America blindly. Made no effort to find a alternative solution. Went against his wife & ended their marriage. Took a side, he is usually neutral when it comes to things like this, after saying that his country was neutral which lead to disaster. RESULT: Country suffered a disaster & is now at war, lost his wife to Wolverine. 
4. Scarlet Witch: Lost what ever good will that she had regained after her return. Her presence seem to driven the Phoenix five crazy. RESULT: Is still known as the person who nearly ended the mutant race. Will forever be blamed for M-Day. On Avengers Unity Squad.     
5. Storm: Did not do much, was unsuccessful is attempting to convince her husband that help her. Did not keep the Phoenix Five from going crazy. Ran to the Avenger for help, (NOTE: Storm was Cyclops second in command, was once the Leader of the X-Men & was respected by the X-Men who did not follow Cyclops) got dumped. RESULT: Dating Wolverine, Running the school, leading a squad of X-Men.
6. Hope Summers: Did not do much, ran, rejected the Phoenix, left the X-Men & joined the Avengers. Spent time with Spiderman, beat Phoenix 2 Cyclops, then with Scarlet Witch's powers beat Dark Phoenix Cyclops. Brought back the mutant race & seemly ended the Phoenix. RESULT: In Cable & X-Force. Nobody else wants her, except Avengers Unity Squad
7. Professor X: Stop me if you have read this before. Did not do much, was unsure. Ruined the awesome Rachael Grey vs the Avengers fight. Threaten Cyclops. Tried to mind wipe Cyclops. Was killed. RESULT: Dead & everybody acts like he was a saint.  

 

This is going to look bad on my resume, isn't it.

 Another issue that I have is the fact that Cyclops & his X-men were made the villains in the end.

1. The Avenger's plan of letting Hope get the Phoenix was Cyclops' plan. 
2. Cyclops & the Phoenix Five were attacked for trying to improve the world.
3. Magneto helped the Avengers in the final battle & was still labeled a criminal.
4. The Avengers acted as if not following their orders was a crime.
5. The Avengers, after attacking the X-Men complained about how mean the X-Men were when they started losing.

Look that guy disagrees with us, AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!

  Last is how the Avengers & their X-Men allies acted in general. The Avengers acted like bullies, they made demands & were willing to use force. They were also arrogant, they had never dealt with the Phoenix before, yet they expected to be in charge. They refused to heed the warnings of others that their actions would lead to disaster. The X-Men who sided with Wolverine made no attempt to try & stop the situation from getting worse, by pointing out that the Phoenix had been controlled in the past, in the end, seemed to hate Cyclops as much as Logan did. Emma Frost also suffered & we found out that she was not as trusted as we thought she was. Her relationship with Cyclops ended in betrayal.

  In the end, while Cyclops got screwed, he came out ahead. M-Day was for the most part fixed. Cyclops is more popular now than he has ever been. Cyclops is cool & Wolverine is the establishment. Cyclops just had to lose almost everything & become the most hated X-Man ever.

The revolution will not be televised because we don't want people to see our new costumes.
