It's time Grizz, the Parsons experiment has failed.

Chandler Parson missed another game last night. Parsons joined the Grizzlies as a free agent in the summer of 2016. He sighed a four year max contract for 94 million dollars. He has played in total of 73 games, this includes the three that he has played in these season. His signing was viewed as a great move that showed that the Grizzlies were willing to spend money. Now, it is a contract that has to go.

I am aware that Parsons has had a bad time but it is time for him to go. Signing Parsons marked the end of the Grit & Grind era with TA and ZBO leaving during the next off season. The Grizzlies due in part to Parsons' contact did not have enough salary cap room. If the Grizzlies had improved, the change would have been viewed as positive, however the Grizzlies missed the playoffs last season. That makes management's decision to end Grit & Grind look like a mistake. This is not Parsons' fault, however his remaining in Memphis serves as a reminder of  management's decision. He is also taking up salary cap room that the Grizzlies need. He is not the only one who should go, but that is a different post.

I understand that getting rid of Parsons' contact will be really hard. Nobody wants an often injured max contact player. The Grizzlies need to do this, so that they, Parsons and the fans can move on.
