Dead Blog Posts: College Super league

 Context:

In Europe  several major soccer teams have formed their own Super league. It currently has 12 teams in 7 cities located in England, Spain and Italy. This are among the best soccer teams on the planet. The first 15 teams to join gain permanent membership, meaning no relegation, aka being demoted to a lower league for having a poor record. It is a mess and will lead to several lawsuits. Top Teams from France, Germany and Portugal have reportedly declined membership. That is not why you are here. You are here to see my hypothetical list of teams for a US college sports version of this. Here we go.

66 schools all sports members

  1. The entire SEC, 14 schools
  2. The entire Pac 12, 12 schools
  3. The entire Big Ten, 14 schools
  4. The entire ACC, 15 schools
  5. Texas
  6. Texas Tech
  7. Baylor
  8. TCU
  9. Oklahoma
  10. OSU
  11. Kansas
  12. Army
  13. Air Force
  14. Navy
  15. BYU

Plus non football schools

Big East 11 members

Total 77 members

Army, Air Force and Navy are invited for PR reasons. The BYU invite is one part respect, one part middle finger to Boise St.

Well that is my prediction if it were to happen. Disagree please comment.

Dead Blog posts, Big 12 is in trouble. Suggestion time.

The Big 12 is dying, again. This time Texas and Oklahoma are leaving to go to the SEC.
