Two years in: The winners in my opinion

Two years ago today, I decided that the microblog known as twitter was not quite good enough when it came to getting my thoughts across. So I started this small blog & Two years later it remains. While its viewers stats are low it remains. Few people knows that it is even around, but it still remains. Now come a look back before we head into year 3. In this post we will look at the winners.

Youtube week Final Day: Larry Finch tribute.

This is the final day of Youtube week. It finishes with a tribute to the late Larry Finch. This former Memphis Tiger, was the face of the basketball program for years. He lead the school to the NCAA title game where he is remembered for a show of sportsmanship. He later became the winningest coach in school history. When I was a child wanted to play for Memphis & for coach Finch.

Youtube Week Day 4: Ode to Pau

How could I do Youtube week & not post this. my first video. The song 'Who wants a crying Spaniard' by Chris Vernon, now of 929 ESPN, gained him international fame & hatemail. But it did not get a Youtube video. Then Angel Garcia quit the Memphis Tigers & went to the Spanish pro league. I wanted to post the song on twitter in his honor, except I could not find a Youtube video. So I made one.

Note: To my fellow Laker fans, listen to the words spoken by Jerry West. He was talking about the fact the Pau was playing badly during the season AFTER being awesome in International competition.

Youtube week, Day 1: Lionel are you down video

Saturday is the 2 year anniversary of this blog. Because of that this is Youtube week. A week to honor the Youtube page. Why, because the Youtube page was the beginning of MemphisSportsFan. I started on April 30, 2010, five months before the twitter page and a little over two months before the twitter account started (July 8th same year aka Lebron's The Decision). I have made several videos which I will post this week. First up is Lionel are you down, a song by Chris Vernon about Memphis Grizziles coach Lionel Hollins enjoy.

Really, You have a problem with the NFL, NOW !?!?

On September the first 2006, Roger Goodell became NFL Commissioner. Over his time as NFL Commissioner Goodell, the NFL rules have changed in ways many people dislike. He has enraged the NFLPA with his fines and suspensions. He led the owners in a lockout of the players just last year. He has been judge, jury and executioner when issuing punishments to players, coaches, GM and owners. Appeals are made to him.

Words of Wisdom Day 2 Al Bundy explaining why men are idiots

After a nearly a year of waiting shoe salesman and Polk High legend Al Bundy returns to give out more wisdom.

Tribute to the King Jerry Lawler

While many people know Lawler as an TV announcer, he made his national TV debut on Letterman as part of the feud with Andy Kaufman . Lawler is one of the most famous & beloved Memphians. He was loyal to the USWA at time when other stars were jumping to WWE. Which is why he never held a WWE belt. He held several others. Lawler also has given back to Memphis. He formed a softball team Lawler's army, which was also the name of his heel faction, to play games for charity. I and all of Memphis wish him a speedy recovery.
Get well soon King. You are in our prayers.

I also plan on doing a MSF Youtube week on the week of the 2nd anniversary. First up.
